Planning & zoning

We have commenced preparation of zoning with ESIA process,  in dialogue with the municipality, county municipality and other public authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Building Act. It is important to have broad consultation before the final plan is considered by Eigersund municipal council.

The Planning and Building Act sets the process for getting the zoning plan adopted and consists of the following parts:

We invite individuals and groups to participate in, influence and inform this planning and decision-making process.

Participation is a fundamental prerequisite of Norwegian democracy and ensures that the people of a community are involved in those matters that will affect their future.

Landowner agreements

The Mineral Act differentiates between state owned minerals and landowner-owned minerals, with specific provisions for each category.

State owned minerals refer to metallic minerals with a density of 5g/cm3 or higher, but also includes a few substances below the threshold like titanium.

On the other hand, landowner-owned minerals are defined as industrial minerals, such as aggregates for building materials, and other minerals containing substances like graphite, olivine, and phosphorus.

Apatite, which contains phosphorus, falls under the landowner-owned minerals category.
